Working with an updated optical design file in LensMechanix

May 10th, 2017

LensMechanix simplifies the workflow for optomechanical engineers by enabling them to load OpticStudio files directly into SOLIDWORKS. When an optical engineer makes changes to an optical design, mechanical engineers can now automatically update it in LensMechanix. LensMechanix replaces your existing optical components with the updated optical components, but it does not automatically repair mates or references in your SOLIDWORKS assembly. You may need to recreate geometry or fix these mates
after the update is completed. Knowing a few tips and tricks can save you time and effort.

In this webinar, you will learn how to:
• Identify the changes that your optical engineer made to understand the mechanical components you need to modify
• Break external references of any mechanical components that you created in the initial assembly
• Add an edge to an optical component without loading the OpticStudio file as editable
